The CCADR was inaugurated on September 12, 2021, by way of a virtual inaugural
CCADR aims to promote academic research and develop interest in the subject of alternate dispute resolution (ADR) among students, by encouraging them to participate in the activities in the field of ADR and organizing workshops, lectures and competitions. The session was graced by attendance of chief guest Mr. Ratan K. Singh (a senior advocate specializing in arbitration and having associations with several national and international arbitral institutions), Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of CNLU, Justice Smt. Mridula Mishra, faculty members of CCADR and 96 students from CNLU as well as other universities.
The event commenced with an introductory address by Mr. Hrishikesh Manu, Faculty Coordinator of CCADR. Ms. Madhura Vaidya, student convenor of CCADR then talked about CCADR’s vision and its future initiatives which was followed by a speech from Justice Smt. Mridula Mishra. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor stressed the importance of ADR in the present judicial system and how ADR has emerged as an appropriate dispute resolution mechanism in India.
The chief guest of the ceremony, Mr. Ratan K. Singh, among others, highlighted the various career options in the area of arbitration (including that of arbitration lawyers and tribunal secretaries) and emphasised that CCADR could emerge as the torch bearer for ADR centres in Bihar. He further encouraged the students to start participating in activities relating to ADR at the earliest and wished CCADR the very best in its future endeavours.
The session ended with a round of questions from the participants and a warm vote of thanks given by Ms. Dakshita Dubey, a student member of CCADR.
